Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification required.
• Basic EKG exam to be completed within first 12 weeks of employment.
• 12 months of arrhythmia interpretation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret patient EKGs on telemetry continuously.
• Admit and discharge patients from central monitoring.
• Interpret rhythms and alert team of rhythm changes.
• Notify staff for lead wires, electrode changes, and proper lead placement.
• Maintain communication logs and chart documentation.
• Coordinate tests and treatments with departments for telemetry patients.
• Orient new personnel on telemetry operation and rhythm interpretation.
• Train new staff on telemetry equipment and EKG interpretation.
