Job summary

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Illinois is seeking a part-time telemetry technician to monitor and interpret EKGs on the emergency department telemetry system. The role offers 24 hours per week with 7p-7a shifts, and a pay range of $20.80 to $31.20 per hour.

You will admit/discharge from central monitoring, alert the team to rhythm changes, document EKG strips, and support patient safety and transport as needed. CPR certification and Basic EKG exam are required within 12 weeks of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/HSED.
• CPR certification.
• Successful completion of Basic EKG exam within the first 12 weeks of employment.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor and interpret EKGs of patients on telemetry.
• Admit and discharge patients from central monitoring.
• Interpret and alert team members of EKG rhythms.
• Notify appropriate staff for lead wires off, electrode changes, and proper lead placement.
• Maintain communication logs and document EKG strips.
• Report rhythm changes and assist with complex arrhythmia analyses as needed.
• Support patient safety and transportation as required.
