Job summary

The Hospitals of Providence - Memorial Campus is seeking a Monitor Tech for Nights on a Per Diem basis. The role involves setting up telemetry, placing electrodes, running strips, and replacing batteries as needed to support physician orders.

Responsibilities include calibrating equipment, troubleshooting, documenting patient data, coordinating with the RN, and transcribing orders. Education: high school diploma; Preferred: 6 months related experience; BLS required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months related experience preferred.
• AHA BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Selects, sets-up, calibrates and adjusts monitoring equipment in accordance with physician orders.
• Ensures continued proper functioning of equipment; troubleshoots equipment problems as identified.
• Collects, transmits, and documents pertinent patient data to the RN with correct interpretations and interval measurements.
• Maintains current monitored patients in the system and communicates with nursing staff on validation counts and alarm parameters.
• Reports alarms and rhythm changes to RN staff.
• Greets, screens, and processes incoming calls and messages.
• Transcribes physician orders and enters tests and treatments into the system.
• Assembles and maintains patient medical records including posting of results.
