Job summary

MercyOne Central Iowa seeks a dedicated Monitor Tech to join our Des Moines area team. You will observe cardiac monitors on telemetry, report changes to the nurse, and document status to ensure patient safety across diverse ages.

The 12-hour night shift (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) includes rotating weekends and holidays. A High School Diploma or GED and healthcare-related experience or monitor class are required to qualify for this vital support role in MercyOne's hospital system.

Qualifications

• Monitors cardiac rhythms on telemetry units and reports changes promptly.
• Obtains and interprets rhythm strips and documents findings.
• Performs clerical duties related to telemetry and patient records.
• Maintains telemetry supplies and knowledge of equipment setup and use.

• Monitors cardiac rhythms on telemetry units.
• Obtains and interprets rhythm strips reporting identified changes.
• Performs clerical duties (i.e., maintenance of rhythm strips in the patient record, answering phones, intercom, notify the assigned nurse).
• Maintains telemetry supplies (i.e., paper, batteries, patches, and pouches).
• Maintains knowledge of telemetry equipment set-up, maintenance and use.

General Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required and 18 years of age.
• Previous health care experience, including monitor experience, desired. Successful completion of monitor class.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.
