Job summary

Texas Health Alliance in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Telemetry/Monitor Technician for the Central Monitor Room. The role requires careful observation of telemetry data, prompt reporting of rhythms and rates, and maintaining patient confidentiality in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, knowledge of medical terminology, at least 1 year of telemetry-related patient care, and BCLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology required.
• 1 year direct patient care experience involving telemetry monitoring or completion of an educational program including telemetry monitoring.
• BCLS certification required prior to independent patient care and maintained quarterly.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate competency in the setup and use of telemetry monitoring equipment.
• Collect, report and document patient rhythms and rate accurately and timely.
• Distinguish and report abnormalities and initiate action to ensure continuity of care.
• Ensure admissions/dismissals are processed promptly; prepare monitor for admission.
• Communicate promptly about risks to patient safety or need for assistance.
• Assist with documentation that supports hospital and regulatory requirements.
• Document accurately and appropriately.
