Job summary

Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth is seeking a Telemetry Monitor Technician to support continuous patient monitoring and timely reporting of rhythms and rates. This role requires attention to detail in a fast-paced hospital environment and collaboration with registered nurses to ensure patient safety.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma, is BCLS certified, and can learn medical terminology quickly.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent required.
• BCLS certification required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• Basic understanding/ability to learn medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency in the set up and use of the telemetry monitoring equipment.
• Collects, reports, and documents patient information (rhythms/rate) timely and accurately.
• Seeks assistance, supervision, or consultation when unsure of rhythm(s) identification.
• Distinguishes and reports abnormalities and initiates action to provide continuity of care.
• Processes admission and discharge or patients in system promptly. Prepares monitor for next patient admission.
• Notifies patient’s primary RN promptly of any changes in patient’s monitor view.
