Job summary

Medical City Alliance in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Telemetry Monitor Technician to provide safe cardiac monitoring and exceptional patient service. You will monitor telemetry waveforms, respond to alarms, document patient data, and collaborate with nursing staff to ensure timely care.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent (Some College preferred) and BLS within 30 days of hire. Previous telemetry experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous telemetry monitoring experience preferred.
• Competency in cardiac rhythm interpretation.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire from an approved vendor.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required; some college preferred.
• Experience working with hospital telemetry systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates response to patient/family/physician needs via call system or telephone.
• Maintains unit logs and other documentation systems.
• Initiates cardiac monitoring per physician order or protocol; sets limits and alarms.
• Enters patient data at central monitor system.
• Maintains log of telemetry patients (dates, room, account, physician, diagnosis).
• Labels central monitor with patient identifiers and data.
• Coordinates with nursing unit for waveform issues or absence of display.
• Monitors waveforms, responds to alarms, notifies nursing staff of dysrhythmias.
• Identifies advanced arrhythmias and validates interpretations with licensed staff.
• Records and posts six-second strip at shift start and after rhythm changes; understands implications.
