Must have AZ or compact license, 2 years telemetry float pool experience (12 months in last 36 months), 3 months Cerner preferred, and the ability to titrate cardiac drips and interpret EKGs. Travel only; local not allowed.

Expect 4 weekend shifts and floating to multiple units/campuses; auto-offer process with rapid consideration.

Experience

Unit Details:Patient ratios are 1:3-4 on CV Tele B3A and Tele Neuro.Patient ratios are 1:4 on Medical-Surgical C5 and B2C on days and nights.CV Tele B3A cares for post-cath-lab, post-vascular-procedure, day-2 CABG, and general telemetry patients; patients are 15 years and older, with no pediatrics.Tele Neuro cares for post-surgical neuro, post-craniotomy, spine, and post-tPA CVA patients; there is no ICP monitoring.Medical-Surgical C5 is approximately 80% surgical and 20% oncology and includes orthopedic, urological, abdominal, Whipple, and women's surgeries; it has 8-10 elective knee/hip procedures per week, with no OB/GYN.Medical-Surgical B2C cares for general Medical-Surgical patients requiring telemetry.Common drips on CV Tele B3A are Amio, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, and Dobutamine, titrated down only; Medical-Surgical B2C uses Amio and Cardizem, titrated down only.Centralized telemetry is used on CV Tele B3A and Tele Neuro; GE monitors and a central monitoring station are used on Medical-Surgical C5 and B2C.No ventilated patients are listed on CV Tele B3A, Tele Neuro, Medical-Surgical C5, or B2C.Spectralink phones have the call light attached on Medical-Surgical C5 and B2C.

Shift & Scheduling:The schedule requires 4 weekend shifts per schedule, on Saturdays and Sundays.Must work 2 of 3 major holidays.

Floating Requirements:First to float. Depending on skill level, nurses will float to ICU, Cardiac Tele, all Tele units, Medical-Surgical units, and any holding area, including the Cath Lab, ER, observation floor, or a hallway. The observation floor is staffed first, followed by the other units.Floating includes Chandler and Mercy Gilbert campuses. The campus and unit assignment are provided 1.5 hours before shift start. Floating to different units may occur mid-shift. Floating to another campus during a single shift is rare but possible; the campuses are 9 miles apart and approximately 15 minutes apart in traffic via interstate.On CV Tele B3A, floating is to similar or lower acuity.Medical-Surgical C5 floats to MedSurg Tele B2C and B2D; Medical-Surgical B2C floats to MedSurg Tele C5 and B2D.
