Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX is seeking a Monitor Tech for Telemetry to support continuous patient monitoring. The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, 1 year of related experience or basic EKG coursework, and BLS certification. Strong English communication is essential; telemetry experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 1 year as a Monitor Tech or related field and/or Basic EKG course.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Licenses and Certifications: BLS (AHA/ARC) upon hire.
• Telemetry experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Initiates, maintains, troubleshoots and discontinues electrodes and leads.
• Interprets EKG strips and establishes baseline readings.
• Keeps telemetry log current and maintains monitoring equipment.
• Reports abnormal arrhythmias to RN immediately.
• Provides continuous monitoring and ensures coverage when leaving area.
