Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks a Monitor Tech to perform continuous telemetry monitoring, interpret EKG strips, and maintain monitoring systems. You will collaborate with nursing staff to ensure patient safety and accurate data collection during 3x12-hour night shifts.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent and the ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Telemetry experience is highly preferred and successful completion of a Basic EKG course is

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Telemetry experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Initiates, maintains, troubleshoots and discontinues electrodes, leads, and transmitters as requested.
• Interprets EKG strips including rate, rhythm, PR, QRS and QT intervals.
• Keeps telemetry log current and maintains monitoring equipment and supplies.
• Reports abnormal and critical arrhythmias to RN immediately.
• Monitors are never left unattended and ensures coverage during shifts.
