Job summary

Tennessee Oncology is seeking a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join a large, outpatient palliative care program in middle Tennessee. Telehealth clinical management options are available, with mentoring from a physician and collaboration with medical and radiation oncology teams.

The role emphasizes autonomous practice, compassionate patient relationships, and improving quality of life for patients and families in a community oncology setting.

Qualifications

• RN or PA license in Tennessee required.
• Master’s degree in nursing or PA certification required.
• National APP certification (ANCC/AANP) or CNS who can prescribe meds required.
• ACHPN certification preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of palliative care or hospice experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clinical assessment of patients, comprehensive history and exams in oncology/palliative care.
• Educates patients and families on treatment plans and supports decision making.
• Collaborates with physicians and other health professionals to ensure care continuity.
• Manages medications, side effects, and symptom control per protocols.
• Participates in care planning, documentation, and clinical trials where applicable.
