Work Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST (or 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM CST)
- Hybrid: In‑office twice per week (partial remote flexibility after metrics are met)
Must‑Have Requirements
- Active RN license in North Carolina or Texas (in good standing)
- Minimum 2 years of direct patient experience
- Must reside within one hour of either work location (Cary, NC or Fort Worth, TX)
- Strong communication and patient education skills
- Comfort with repetitive, structured telephonic work and FDA‑mandated counseling scripts
Job Description
The Telehealth Nurse supports patient adherence, education, and safety for specialty drug therapies through telephonic counseling and documentation. Working under the FDA REMS program, the nurse ensures patients and caregivers understand their treatment regimens, adhere to therapy schedules, and report potential side effects. This position demands professionalism, empathy, and consistency in patient engagement.
Responsibilities
- Counsel and educate patients on specialty drug therapies and FDA REMS‑mandated medications
- Read required FDA statements verbatim during patient counseling sessions
- Ensure medication adherence, coordinate refill deliveries, and collect copays as applicable
- Maintain complete, compliant, and accurate documentation following industry standards
- Discuss treatment side effects, alternatives, and adherence support
- Identify and report Adverse Events (AEs) and Product Complaints (PCs) to relevant authorities
- Serve as liaison between patients, providers, and pharmacists for ongoing therapy management
- Follow HIPAA regulations and maintain strict patient confidentiality
- Collaborate with Pharmacy Support and Care Teams to ensure timely drug delivery and refill coordination
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or bachelor’s degree
- Active unrestricted RN license in North Carolina or Texas
- 2‑3 years of direct patient care experience
- High proficiency in telephonic communication and documentation systems
- Comfortable performing repetitive counseling tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and attention to detail
- Reliable, organized, and comfortable working independently in a hybrid environment
- Experience with specialty pharmacy, oncology, or chronic disease management
- Familiarity with FDA REMS program compliance and telehealth systems
