Job summary

Altro Health is building a platform empowering wellness businesses to offer clinical services remotely, including blood testing, prescriptions, and peptides, under clinical supervision.

You will work alongside our COO to keep clinical operations humming, acting as an extra set of eyes and hands to ensure nothing slips. This is a 1099 remote contractor role requiring 30–35 hours/week with morning EST availability.

Qualifications

• Must have 4+ years of clinical experience.
• At least 1 year in a fully remote healthcare role with async patient communication.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Based in the United States and able to work mornings in Eastern Time.
• HIPAA training or willingness to complete it before starting.
• Willing to sign a BAA and complete a background check.
• Experience with patient communication in clinical settings.

Responsibilities

• Execute clinical protocols—follow established workflows for order processing, patient communication, and care coordination; flag deviations.
• Manage the daily order queue—coordinate with labs and pharmacies to keep fulfillment moving; escalate before delays occur.
• Handle asynchronous patient messaging and phone line; triage inquiries with a warm, clinically-sound voice.
• Support internal care coordination—connect clinical, fulfillment, and partner teams to ensure smooth handoffs.

What you’ll do

You’ll work alongside our COO to keep clinical ops humming. You won’t own the function — you’ll be the extra set of eyes and hands that makes sure nothing slips.

Specifically:

1. Execute clinical protocols — follow established clinical workflows for order processing, patient communication, and care coordination. Flag deviations early and escalate appropriately.
2. Manage the daily order queue — monitor at-risk orders, coordinate with labs and pharmacies to keep fulfillment moving, and escalate before delays occur.
3. Handle asynchronous patient messaging and phone line — triage inbound patient messages and respond in a warm, clinically-sound voice. You know when to answer, when to escalate, and when to loop in a clinician.
4. Support internal care coordination — serve as the connective tissue between clinical, fulfillment, and partner teams as needed to provide clinical clarifications. Keep handoffs clean and nothing falling through the cracks.

Who we’re looking for

• Clinically fluent. MA, LVN/LPN, RN, or clinical coordinator background. You’ve reviewed scripts, handled patient comms, and know when to escalate.
• 4+ years of clinical experience, including at least 1 year in a fully remote healthcare role with async patient communication.
• Excellent written and spoken English — your tone and clarity matter. You’ll be communicating directly with US-based patients and partners.
• Reliable in morning ET hours. This is non-negotiable — please don’t apply if you can’t work mornings New York time on weekdays.
• Comfortable with startup chaos. Tools change, processes are half-built, and you’re fine with that. Bonus if you’ve worked at a concierge clinic, telehealth company, or DTC health startup.
• Detail-oriented. You catch issues early and document as you go.

Compliance requirements

• Must be based in and work from the United States
• Willing to sign a BAA and complete a background check before starting
• Prior HIPAA training, or willing to complete it before starting
• All patient communication stays in company systems

Nice to have

• Professional Spanish fluency (spoken and written) — we serve a Spanish-speaking patient population and this is a meaningful differentiator
• Experience with EHRs, telehealth platforms, or pharmacy/lab portals
• Background in functional/longevity medicine, peptides, or hormone optimization
• Customer service experience at a high-touch consumer brand
• Weekend availability

Logistics

• Location: US-based, remote
• Hours: Approx. 30-35hrs/week, with morning availability Eastern Time required
• Rate: $25-$40/hour, depending on experience
