Job description

Join to apply for the Telecommunications Technician role at A-Z Corporation.

Position Summary: The Telecom Technician will participate in the installation, maintenance, and inspection of telecommunication systems and associated processes.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintain regular attendance at assigned locations, which may include A/Z office or other project sites.
2. Prepare sketches showing wiring and equipment locations or follow blueprints, ensuring concealed wiring is installed before walls, ceilings, and flooring are completed.
3. Install cable supports, through-floor and wall sleeves, and fire-stopping materials.
4. Oversee or participate in data cable installations, open wiring, conduit, and cable trays.
5. Install relay racks, cabinets, and network switches.
6. Install cable trays above and below floors.
7. Work in confined spaces as needed.
8. Terminate data, voice, coaxial, control, and fiber optic cables.
9. Test cables to TIA/EIA Level II standards with cable analyzers.
10. Perform routine duties as directed by workplace leaders, maintaining safety and quality standards.
11. Participate in site housekeeping and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

• 3-5 years of field experience, trade school, or apprenticeship.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Focus on customer satisfaction.
• Good documentation skills, including time sheets, reports, and material requests.
• Understanding of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and adherence to safety protocols.
• Appropriate state certification or license, OSHA 10 certification.

Physical Demands & Environment:

• Perform tasks on construction sites, including climbing ladders, crawling, working from aerial lifts.
• Lift and manipulate objects up to 50 lbs.
• Work in GMP, aseptic, non-aseptic, and office environments.
