Job summary

Entergy Mississippi, LLC is seeking a Telecommunications Tech to independently plan and coordinate detailed work activities in installing, configuring, networking, provisioning, and supporting diverse telecom systems and network infrastructure.

The role requires experience with complex circuit provisioning, equipment installation, troubleshooting across transport systems, and a willingness to work after hours as needed, while complying with safety policies.

Qualifications

Minimum 4+ years in at least two domains from: two-way radio, fiber, microwave, AC/DC power, IP networking, VLAN, MPLS-TE/TP, mesh networks, or Ciena transport equipment; or a 2-year Electronics Technology degree.
4+ years in a telecommunications Technician role or equivalent.
Strong foundation in electronics, IP networking, MPLS-TE/TP, PTP, SYNC-E timing, mesh networks; AMI/DA systems and Ciena 10X transport knowledge.
Compliance with safety policies and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Support telecom network provisioning, fault isolation, and resolution; install, relocate, modify system hardware; assist in outages.
Experience with Mesh Network Technologies and AMI/DA.
Revise and execute work orders accurately and efficiently.
Proficient in IP networking: ISIS, BGP, MPLS-TE routing.
Operate and analyze advanced test equipment (OTDRs, meters, testers).
Lead and train crew members; supervise when needed; ensure safety and efficiency.
Be available for after-hours call outs.
