Job summary

Loyola Medicine, a member of Trinity Health, is seeking a Telecom Attendant to support paging, messaging, and staff inquiries on the Evening Shift. This role sits at the heart of our campus operations and patient flow.

You will help refer physicians and the public to information about staff and services, provide directory details, and screen calls for appropriate routing. The position emphasizes patient-focused service in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1–2 years of previous job-related experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to problem-solve by critically evaluating information and implementing effective solutions.
• A proactive approach to quality improvement and operational efficiency.
• Experience in a healthcare or similar customer service role is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones to manage paging, messaging, and general inquiries.
• Serve as referring physicians, and the public seeking information about physicians, staff.
• Provide directory information, assist with inquiries related to staff, clinic services, office hours, and general information.
• Screen physician calls and determine whether they should be transferred to the office, nurse, or paged.
• Initiate medical teams for emergency code calls, logging all relevant details, and assist security during disaster or emergency procedures.
• Support and execute the department’s disaster plan in case of equipment or network failure.

Shift: 2:00-10:30pm rotating days off, weekends and Holidays required

Compensation

Pay Range: $15.76- $22.11 per hour

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
