Job summary

Loyola Medicine, a member of Trinity Health, is seeking a Telecom Attendant for the Evening Shift (10:00pm-6:30am). The role involves answering phones, routing calls, and providing directory information for physicians, staff, and the public.

You will help initiate medical team alerts and support disaster procedures while ensuring high-quality patient-focused service. We require a High School diploma and 1-2 years in a related role, with strong communication skills and a commitment to service

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of previous job-related experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
• Ability to problem-solve by evaluating information and implementing solutions.
• A proactive approach to quality improvement and operational efficiency.
• Healthcare or healthcare-adjacent customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones to manage paging, messaging, and general inquiries.
• Screen physician calls and determine whether to transfer to the office, nurse, or paging.
• Provide directory information and assist with inquiries about staff, services, and hours.
• Support disaster plans and assist during emergencies.
• Initiate medical team notifications and log relevant details.
• Assist security during disaster or emergency procedures.

What you’ll do:

• Answer phones to manage paging, messaging, and general inquiries.
• Type 35 words per minute
• Serve as referring physicians, and the public seeking information about physicians, staff.
• Provide directory information, assist with inquiries related to staff, clinic services, office hours, and general information.
• Screen physician calls and determine whether they should be transferred to the office, nurse, or paged.
• Initiate medical teams for emergency code calls, logging all relevant details, and assist security during disaster or emergency procedures.
• Support and execute the department’s disaster plan in case of equipment or network failure.

What you’ll need for this job:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Compensation

Pay Range: $15.76 - $22.11 per hour! Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
