Job summary

Vitaver & Associates, Inc. seeks a Telecommunications Project Coordinator to join onsite in Boca Raton, FL. This temporary-to-hire role requires 100% on-site work at the client site with no remote option.

The qualified candidate will support low-voltage, telecom, structured cabling, and IT infrastructure projects, with 2+ years of experience, a bachelor’s degree, and the ability to lift 40 lbs and access construction drawings.

Qualifications

  • Availability to work 100% onsite at the Client's site in Boca Raton, FL.
  • 2+ years of experience in telecom, low-voltage or IT infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with structured cabling (copper/fiber) including testing and documentation.
  • Experience with telecommunications rooms, IT rooms, and network equipment.
  • Ability to read floor plans, drawings and project specs; site surveys.
  • Coordinate with contractors, track milestones, and manage quotes/invoices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams).
  • Bachelor's degree required; willingness to relocate as needed.
  • Able to lift 40 lbs and access construction sites.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager with day-to-day management of low-voltage and telecommunications projects.
  • Conduct site walks and document existing conditions.
  • Coordinate with contractors to schedule cabling, fiber, AP, rack, and IT room work.
  • Review project scopes and contractor work to ensure requirements are met.
  • Track open items, deficiencies, punch lists, and schedules.
  • Collect and organize test results, as-builts, and closeout documentation.
  • Assist with obtaining and reviewing contractor quotes and invoices.
  • Work in active construction and campus environments, including IT rooms.

Telecommunications Project Coordinator (onsite)

14946 - Telecommunications Project Coordinator (Onsite) - Boca Raton, FL
Start Date : ASAP
Type: Temp-to-Hire
Estimated Duration: 6 months with possible conversion to direct hire.
Work Setting: 100% of the time at the Client's site. No telecommuting or remote work. This is a non-negotiable requirement from the client.
Only candidates able to relocate as required should apply to avoid removal from future consideration.
Our client is filling this contract position exclusively through approved staffing partners, so this opportunity is not available by applying directly with the client.

Required:
  • Availability to work 100% of the time at the Client's site in Boca Raton, FL (required);
  • Experience supporting low-voltage, telecommunications, structured cabling, construction, or IT infrastructure projects (2+ years);
  • Experience with structured cabling systems, including copper (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A, patch panels, jacks, patch cords) and fiber optic (multimode and single-mode), covering termination, labeling, testing (including OTDR/light-source), troubleshooting, and documentation;
  • Experience with telecommunications rooms, wireless access point installations, pathways, and construction drawings;
  • Experience with IT rooms (MDF/IDF), racks, patch panels, switches, cable management, and cable pathways (conduit, sleeves, J-hooks, cable trays, penetrations);
  • Experience reading floor plans, telecommunications drawings, riser diagrams, cable schedules, and project drawings;
  • Experience performing IT room and site surveys, reviewing contractor work against approved scope and drawings, and identifying installation deficiencies;
  • Experience with wireless access point installations and the physical infrastructure required to support them;
  • Experience coordinating contractor site visits and schedules, tracking project milestones, deliveries, quotes, invoices, and change requests, and maintaining project documentation (as-builts, test results);
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams);
  • Experience with new building construction and reviewing blueprints/PDFs;
  • Customer service experience in related environment;
  • Bachelor's degree;
  • Able to lift 40 lbs and climb a ladder for assessments.
Preferred:
  • Experience working in a university, hospital, commercial, government, or large enterprise environment;
  • BICSI certification or related knowledge;
  • Experience with structured cabling standards and practices;
  • Experience reviewing contractor quotes and scopes of work;
  • Experience with fiber and copper certification test results;
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Foxit, or similar PDF/drawing software;
  • Experience creating or reviewing as-built drawings;
  • Experience with Cisco, Mist, or other wireless/network equipment from an infrastructure/support perspective, including basic VLANs, switches, and access points;
  • Experience working with Facilities, IT, construction teams, and outside vendors;
Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Project Manager with day-to-day management of low-voltage and telecommunications projects;

  • Collect and organize fiber/copper test results, as-builts, and closeout documentation;
  • Assist with obtaining and comparing contractor quotes and reviewing invoices against completed work;
  • Ability to work in active construction and campus environments, including IT rooms and areas under renovation.
