Telecommunications Operations Engineer Our client is a well-established Telecommunications Services & Software company in Co. Clare that is looking to hire an Telecommunications Operations Role ( full-time role ) This role will suit someone who can work on their own, as well as being a team player, an energetic individual with an emphasis on telecommunications service technologies. Successful candidate should be professional, mature and flexible. Engineer Role Focus : The primary focus of the Engineers role is to be the glue between the small team of in-house engineers (4 engineers, 4 technicians, Network & IT Consultants), and a number of Contract Engineers (circa. 5-7) to ensure all projects are properly designed and specified, correct materials are purchased, risk assessments and method statements are completed, site access is coordinated, Health & Safety Online Plans are submitted and approved, all quotation deliverables are met, problems are solved and jobs are completed and signed-off by the customer to a high level of customer satisfaction. The person will work closely with the Operations Controller to ensure the smooth management of order management, logistics, scheduling, sales invoicing and account management for completed work in line with contractual agreements. The person will work closely with the Engineering Director who has primary responsibility for business development, sales, business proposals, contracts management, account management and administration/accounts. This role requires the candidate to focus on Task Management of the Ai Bridges Engineering Team The role is to work on and assist Telecommunications and IT Projects and engage with other Senior Telecoms Engineers& Radio Planning Engineers and oversee Radio Network Design Projects including, commissioning of and preparation of telecoms internet network solutions for installation and sign-off on customer projects. The role involves liaising with the on-site Telecoms Network Technicians and Consultants to ensure smooth network deployments by other technicians and sub-Engineers. Following network installation, the Engineer will manage the set-up of network monitoring software applications ( SNMPc and PRTG ) and management of core and customer Operational Telecoms Services and IT networks The role also involves co-ordination, maintaining and supporting as-built and site-completion documentation as required by quality management practices and standard operating procedures The Engineer will be expected to be experienced in IT & telecommunications, wireless networking concepts, IP telephony and with good IT skills and who is also prepared to work with the AiBridges team of Telecoms Engineers/Technicians and Software Engineers to design, implement new telecoms network solutions and monitor and maintain customer networks. As the role will require some on-site work, an interest in meeting and dealing with customers and experience in IT and wireless survey work is desirable. The Engineer will develop working knowledge of Network Monitoring Software and Technical Support Helpdesk applications ( PRTG, Castlerock ) The Engineer must show good initiative and ability to work build rapport with other engineers and team of sub-Engineers. Ability to self-manage is also an important aspect of the role. 2nd\3rd Level Engineering Support including network design, bench-test designs and burn-in tests, product configuration validation, network deployment and installation, live network cutover or commissioning, liaising with customers, sub-Engineer and engineering teams, final installation and commissioning and customer network sign-off. Key Responsibilities For The Role: Implementation of an IT \ telecoms internet design for company customers to include routine maintenance plans on all equipment located on local internet networks in Ireland. Radio Telecoms project design, staging, bench testing and commissioning. Network Management System ( NOC Software used is SNMPc and PRTG ) implementation to allow outage alert monitoring of all customer networks and corporate customers. Supporting cloud-based data analytics tools and management portals in use by Ai Bridges Automation of existing Technical Support Process within organization and assist with integration into cloud-based ( Ai Bridges is currently using ZOHO Desk ) Developing company-wide knowledge and documentation of the following wireless technologies for enterprise /carrier network access and enterprise/carrier core network: Wireless radio technologies ( WLAN, 3G/4G/LTE, DTT, VHF, UHF , TETRA ) Radio & IP technologies (LAN/WAN, VPN, VLAN, MPLS, VRRP technologies ) Helpdesk PSA applications ( The Company is currently uses ZOHO Helpdesk and CRM . ) Providing Technical Support Process \ CRM support and liaise with installation technicians, contract engineers and sub-contract professional rigger teams as part of the Emergency Response Process for week-end emergency customer support requests. This involves All levels of maintenance and service support functions Supporting Site Engineers on customer site visits Management of Network Fault Diagnosis and Escalation Supporting Operations Teams for spares management required for emergency call-outs. Multi-vendor Networking Product support via email \ telephone. Salary & Benefits: Part-time/Hybrid /Flexitime after training/Equal Opportunities Employer Remuneration negotiable.
