Job summary

Swipejobs is seeking an engineer to own the technical approach from requirements gathering and fiber/network architecture through RFP/specification development, vendor coordination, field implementation, and system migration.

The role focuses on developing scalable fiber architecture, establishing clear technical specifications, coordinating vendors and internal stakeholders, and supporting deployment and migration across the substation network.

Responsibilities

• Fiber/network design and architecture management, coordinate installation documents and monitor project progress.
• Development of technical specifications and RFP documentation across various projects, coordinate milestone communication to necessary parties.
• Vendor/contractor management and implementation coordination, manage KPI's and metrics and provide clear project updates.
• Substation deployment coordination across various projects, frequent cross-collaboration with other teams and managers as needed.
• System migration/integration from legacy databases over to updated/newer workflows.
• Serve as the dedicated Telecom/Fiber technical SME and project owner for a large-scale utility-grade fiber deployment connecting 100+ substations.

Success will be measured by the ability to develop a consistent, scalable fiber architecture; establish clear technical specifications; effectively coordinate vendors and internal stakeholders; and support successful deployment and migration across the substation network.
