Job summary

National Fiber and Copper, Inc. seeks an experienced Telecommunications Installer in the Washington DC metro area. The role involves installing, terminating, and testing copper and fiber cabling, documenting test results, and ensuring reliable connectivity.

A background check is required and independence is essential. Minimum 2–4 years in structured cabling with strong communication skills and a valid driver's license. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• BICSI certification a plus.
• 2-4 years experience with all phases of structured cabling installations.
• Current valid Driver's License required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail; ability to work independently.
• Must pass background check.
• Documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Install and test copper cable, CAT 5e/6/6a, coax, fiber, and AV installations.
• Terminate and test connectivity of equipment and cables.
• Label and record test results; maintain network documentation.
• Troubleshoot and repair outages to maintain service.
• Travel as needed for job sites.

Technical Skills And Qualifications

• Knowledge of installation and testing of copper cable, CAT 5e, CAT 6, CAT 6a, Coax, optical fiber, audio visual installations, cross connects, cutover, raceway/tray/ conduit installs
• Verifies service by terminating and testing connectivity of equipment and cables
• Documents network by labeling and recording test resultsMaintains network by troubleshooting and repairing outages
• Maintains safe work environments
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and advanced training seminars.
• Must provide your own hand tools
• Some travel may be required
