Job summary

UC Health in Cincinnati, OH seeks a Telecommunications Technician responsible for installation, maintenance and repair of telecommunication and network equipment across the UC Health environment. You will operate and test equipment and provide customer service as needed.

Responsibilities include MAC moves/adds/changes, coordinating with vendors, testing hardware/software, documenting activities, and ensuring reliable telecom services for staff and patients. UC Health is an EEO employer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Preferred: Associate degree in IS&T or related field (Business or Computer Science).
• 3 years of installation/maintenance of IP, PBX systems or network devices required.
• 5 years of installation/maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and organize information for MAC (move, add, change) completion.
• Communicate regularly with staff to resolve work orders and prevent future problems.
• Document all activities with respect to work orders and MACs and direct requests for service to the Service Desk.
• Monitor Work Order queue to query, report, and close calls.
• Monitor uninterruptible power supply systems.
• Monitor and resolve wireless issues including phones, headsets and computers.
• Troubleshoot Microsoft Teams telephone issues.
• Act as Tier 1 and 2 for cellular reinforcement.
• Conduct rounding by keeping areas clean and reporting environmental issues.
