Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Telecommunications Technician for a 6-month contract in the Greater Fort Wayne Area, onsite in New Carlisle, IN. The position offers medical, dental, vision, and a 401k benefit package with potential for permanent placement.

You will install, troubleshoot, and maintain telecom systems, configure devices, support end users, and maintain records while complying with safety standards. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.
• Proven experience in telecommunications or related field.
• Knowledge of telecommunications systems, including routers, switches, and cabling.
• Familiarity with VoIP, PBX systems, and network protocols.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair telecommunications systems and equipment.
• Perform routine inspections and troubleshoot network issues.
• Configure and program telecommunications devices and systems.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless network connectivity.
• Provide technical support to end-users, diagnosing and resolving issues.
