Job summary

M.C. Dean in Tysons, Virginia, seeks a Telecommunications Technician 2 to install communications cabling and equipment, following plans, specs, and industry codes.

You will work on OSP/ISP copper, CCTV, DAS, fiber, and structured cabling while aiming to become a qualified BICSI Technician. Ideal candidates have 4+ years of related telecom experience, a High School Diploma or GED, and an ACTIVE TS/SCI Clearance with the ability to obtain a Polygraph.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 4+ years of Telecommunications experience in overseeing and installing OSP/ISP Copper, CCTV, DAS, Fiber, and Structured Cabling.
• BICSI Installer 1 copper certification (or higher) required; Fiber certification preferred.
• ACTIVE TS/SCI Clearance with the ability to obtain a Polygraph is REQUIRED.
• Experience with complex markets including Federal & Government Facilities, Healthcare, Commercial Buildings & Mission Critical facilities.

Responsibilities

• Install communications cabling and equipment per plans, specs, codes, and standards.
• Gain knowledge of Telecommunication Systems including OSP/ISP Copper, CCTV, DAS, Fiber Optic, and Structured Cabling.
• Support complex scopes for Healthcare, Government, Higher-Education, Federal Aviation, and Mission Critical industries.
• Lead and participate in field-project teams with a focus on safety and quality.
• Maintain documentation of telecommunications infrastructure and ensure proper cable management.
