Job summary

Protouch Staffing in El Paso, TX is seeking a Project Manager to oversee OSP, fiber optic and telecom construction projects from planning through closeout.

You will develop schedules, budgets, coordinate field crews, permits, RFIs, change orders, and ensure safety and quality standards across multiple sites.

Strong leadership and communication are essential; travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of project management experience in telecom, fiber, OSP, or construction.
  • Hands-on experience with OSP and fiber construction projects, including aerial and underground work.
  • Knowledge of boring, trenching, splicing, and fiber testing processes.
  • Experience managing field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, construction plans, utility maps, permits, and specifications.
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, costs, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Experience managing projects through construction, completion, and closeout.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
  • Results-driven with strong attention to project timelines, costs, and quality.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Telecom, fiber, or construction-related certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage OSP, fiber optic, aerial, underground, trenching, boring, splicing, and telecom construction projects.
  • Lead projects from planning and mobilization through construction, completion, and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, work plans, resources, and cost tracking.
  • Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, utility providers, and customers.
  • Conduct field visits to monitor project progress, safety, quality, productivity, and compliance.
  • Review engineering drawings, construction plans, utility maps, permits, specifications, and project scope.
  • Coordinate permitting activities and address requirements from municipalities and utility providers.
  • Manage RFIs, change orders, project risks, issues, and scope changes.
  • Track project milestones, KPIs, budgets, schedules, costs, and required documentation.
  • Manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ensure accurate project documentation, closeout records, and as-built packages.
  • Communicate project status, risks, schedule changes, and other updates to customers and internal teams.
  • Identify project obstacles and coordinate solutions to keep projects on schedule.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company standards, construction specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Improve project workflows, field operations, productivity, and overall project efficiency.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
