Job summary

M.C. Dean in Washington, DC area is seeking a Deputy Project Leader (Telecommunications) for a training position that teaches supervision, project planning, budgeting, and data analysis on large telecom and security deployments.

The role requires 5+ years in telecom integration, a engineering/construction management degree, and proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, and scheduling tools. Travel up to 25% and occasional nights/weekends are expected; benefits include medical, 401(k), and tuition

Qualifications

• 5+ years with a telecommunications integrator or electrical contractor.
• Experience on telecom and electronic security projects from $500k to $10M.
• Knowledge of drawings, subcontracts, change orders, RFIs and submittals.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team providing telecom and security infrastructure while ensuring design efficiency and contractual compliance.
• Design and deploy information transport and telecom systems.
• Run day-to-day project operations and manage change orders.
• Plan cash flow, maintain as-built docs, and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Read blueprints, prepare estimates for partially designed projects, and resolve issues.
