Job summary

Technical Source seeking a Telecom Project Manager in Garner, NC to lead end-to-end delivery of structured cabling, fiber, and security systems. The role is highly client-facing, coordinating between customers, installation teams, and vendors to ensure on-time, within-scope, and on-budget project outcomes.

You will prepare bids, maintain BOMs/POs, and manage schedules in Smartsheet and Excel, review drawings with Bluebeam, and ensure safety and quality on site with ~20% travel.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated project management experience in telecom/low-voltage or related fields.
• Experience coordinating structure cabling, fiber optic, and security installations.
• Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a client-facing role.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (formulas, filters, basic pivot tables, large project spreadsheets), Smartsheet, Bluebeam, and MS Planner.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to lead meetings with clients and field teams.
• Ability to read construction drawings, floor plans, and specifications.
• Proven track record of managing budgets, schedules, and resources to meet deliverables.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to client sites (~20%).

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and manage telecom, structured cabling, fiber, and security installation projects from kickoff through closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, task lists, and timelines using Smartsheet and MS Planner.
• Define project scope, deliverables, milestones, and resource plans.
• Track progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation to maintain schedule and budget.
• Serve as primary client contact and lead meetings, updates, and site walks.
• Prepare bids and proposals, including labor, materials, and subcontractor estimates.
• Develop and maintain BOMs, cost breakdowns, and pricing spreadsheets using Excel and Smartsheet.
• Review drawings using Bluebeam to validate scope and quantities; support RFQs/RFPs.
• Create, track, and manage POs and material orders; monitor budgets and change orders.
• Coordinate labor planning and staffing; ensure on-time delivery with quality standards.
• Perform site walks, verify conditions, and ensure safety compliance.
