Job summary

Staples Advantage Canada is seeking a Manager of Telecom to lead day-to-day telecom operations across stores, contact centers, and corporate offices. You will direct telecom engineers, analysts, and business analysts, oversee voice, UC, telephony platforms, and telecom expense management.

The role focuses on reliability, security, cost-efficiency, vendor management, budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration with IT, procurement, and finance to optimize services and drive business results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent
• 7+ years in telecom engineering/operations
• 3+ years leading technical teams
• Experience with enterprise voice, UC, or contact centers in multi-site org
• Experience with Cisco CUCM/UCCE/Webex/Jabber/Finesse/IVR or similar
• Experience managing telecom vendors, contracts, and budgets
• Experience using Excel and Power BI for reporting and tracking

Responsibilities

• Manage daily telecom operations including voice services, UC, and contact center platforms
• Support implementation and lifecycle management of telecom platforms
• Ensure reliable, secure, scalable telecom services across locations
• Lead upgrades, migrations, modernization, and project work
• Manage incidents, escalations, root cause analysis, and service improvement
• Maintain operating procedures and telecom standards
• Partner with IT, Network, Security, Finance, Procurement for end-to-end services
• Oversee telecom expense management including invoices, budgeting, and forecasting
• Review invoices, resolve billing issues, maintain inventories
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and vendor performance improvements
• Provide operational reporting to support budgets and resource planning
• Set priorities and ensure on-time delivery within budget
• Maintain dashboards and metrics for telecom performance
