Job summary

Staples, Inc. is seeking a Manager of Telecom to lead day-to-day operations, security, and cost management of the company’s telecommunications environment.

You will supervise telecom engineers and analysts supporting enterprise voice, unified communications, contact centers, and carrier relationships. Role requires managing vendor performance, budgeting, and cross‑functional collaboration with IT, Security, Finance, and Procurement to deliver reliable telecom services across stores, offices, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with extensive telecom experience.
• 7+ years in telecommunications engineering/operations and related areas.
• 3+ years leading or managing technical teams, analysts, or vendors.
• Experience with enterprise voice/unified communications and contact centers.
• Experience with Cisco CUCM, UCCE, Webex, Jabber, Finesse, IVR or similar.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily telecom operations, including voice services and UC platforms.
• Support implementation and lifecycle management of telecom platforms.
• Ensure reliability, security, and scalability across locations.
• Oversee upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvements.
• Handle incidents, escalations, root cause analysis, and resolution.
• Maintain operating procedures and telecom standards.
• Partner with IT, Security, Finance, Procurement, and business teams.
• Oversee telecom expense management and budgeting.
• Review invoices, resolve billing issues, and maintain inventories.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities and optimize services.
• Manage vendors, carriers, and service providers; monitor performance.
• Provide operational reporting to support budgeting and planning.
