Job summary

CTG seeks a Telecom/Network Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise telecom/network infrastructure in Phoenix, AZ. This 6-month assignment requires strong OSI understanding, routing, switching, and security tooling expertise.

You will participate in architecture decisions, lead small projects, and contribute to budget planning while learning new technologies and sharing knowledge with the team. English communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical discipline with 2+ years of professional tech experience; alternative 4+ years with an Associate's.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team; customer-focused.
  • CCNA certification preferred; Cisco knowledge preferred.

Telecom/Network Engineer job at CTG. Phoenix, AZ.

CTG is seeking to fill a Telecom/Network Specialist opening for our client in Phoenix, AZ.

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Duration: 6 months

Duties
  • Design, configure, manage, troubleshoot, support, and implement Telecom/Network Infrastructure.
  • Participate in decisions on technical direction, architecture design, and product selection for the enterprise telecom/data network.
  • Deploy telecom/network technology and contribute to project status reporting.
  • Exercise independent judgment and work on complex technical issues under general direction.
  • Provide input to short and long-term strategy and budget planning.
  • Lead and manage small projects, coordinating internal and external staff.
  • Occasionally oversee project team members and provide input to their evaluations.
  • Participate in implementations and troubleshooting efforts under high-impact scenarios.
  • Receptive to learning new technologies and contributing to team knowledge.
Skills
  • Expert knowledge of telecom/network concepts and the 7-layer OSI model.
  • Proficiency with network infrastructure disciplines including routing, switching, and wireless.
  • Experience with network and network security monitoring/management tools.
  • Operational experience with network access control, segmentation (TrustSec, ISE), VPN, DNS security, secure web browsing, and internet caching.
  • Familiarity with software-defined networking, firewalls, WAN/LAN, SASE, and Cloud networking.
  • Knowledge of scripting/automation tools such as Splunk, Ansible, Python, and .NET.
  • Understanding of Agile and/or Waterfall project methodologies.
  • Basic understanding of desktop and server operating systems.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Cisco knowledge preferred.
  • CCNA certification preferred.

Education

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with a minimum of two (2) years of professional technical work experience.
  • Associate's degree with a minimum of four (4) years of professional technical work experience.
  • Minimum of six (6) years professional technical work experience for individuals without a degree.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
