Job summary

CTG is seeking a Software Engineer II for a remote, 2-month assignment. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and supporting applications using Java, React, Angular, .NET, MS SQL Server, and Azure.

You will analyze systems, draft specifications, and collaborate with tech and business stakeholders to deliver milestones. Ideal candidates have an associate degree and at least 5 years of systems analysis and application development experience, with strong Java/React, and Angular/.NET

Responsibilities

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from technical analysis and design through testing and user acceptance.
• Evaluate and recommend technologies, processes, and system solutions to improve application performance and business capabilities.
• Promote development standards, procedures, risk controls, and internal control requirements.
• Maintain application effectiveness and provide day-to-day support and troubleshooting as needed.
• May coordinate or lead development activities and provide technical guidance to less experienced team members.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, debug, and support basic to complex applications and system enhancements using Java, React, Angular, .NET, MS SQL Server, and Azure.
• Perform systems analysis, application design, development, and technical problem resolution.

Scope of Responsibilities:

Works under the direction of a Technology Team Lead while independently handling high-level systems analysis and technical development activities. May coordinate project tasks, manage development activities, and lead small to large scope initiatives. Interacts with senior management, technology teams, business stakeholders, clients, and vendors.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

May direct and monitor less experienced technical resources and coordinate development tasks on project-based assignments. May provide technical leadership and serve as a technical representative on committees, special projects, and other initiatives.

Education and Experience Required:

• Associate degree and 5 years of systems analysis/application development experience, or a combined minimum of 7 years of higher education and/or work experience, including 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong application development experience with Java and React.
• Experience with Angular and .NET.
• Experience with MS SQL Server and Azure.
• Strong systems analysis, application development, debugging, and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience working on multiple complex projects and coordinating between technology and business teams.
• Experience developing and implementing systems solutions and driving project milestones and delivery.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Education and Experience Preferred:

• Knowledge of application frameworks and integrated/interfacing applications.
• Experience serving as a subject matter expert for supported applications or business functions.
• Advanced understanding of application architecture and system dependencies.
• Experience leading technical initiatives beyond normal business‑as‑usual activities.
• Ability to multitask across complex projects and proactively identify and resolve issues.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $46.64 - 77.74/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
