Job summary

Ledcor Technical Services seeks a Designer to perform detailed design of outside plant (OSP) elements and fiber designs for telecommunication networks. You will collaborate with engineering teams to create constructible GPON designs, balancing field work and office tasks while upholding safety and quality in all activities.

Responsibilities include designing OSP networks, coordinating with power providers, and preparing BOMs and construction quotes.

Qualifications

• College, Trade, or Technical Diploma (preferably civil, electrical/telecommunications, GIS).
• 3+ years in OSP telecommunications or related field using AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, Google Earth, Bluebeam and Adobe.
• GIS is a plus; strong organizational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Design fiber optic and copper OSP networks for FTTH deployments and commercial developments.
• Work with power company and design power route and one-line schematics.
• Manage growth and sustainment of existing networks, including relocations and infrastructure changes.
• Perform quality control, field checks, and interpret OSP records.
• Create system designs, BOMs, and provide construction quotes.
• Conduct site walks for data collection and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to adapt within a dynamic work environment.
