Job summary

UC San Diego is seeking a Telecommunications Project Manager within Enterprise Network & Telecommunications to lead telecom infrastructure projects from planning through closeout. You will coordinate with campus clients, engineers, architects, contractors, vendors, and internal technical teams to deliver copper and fiber cabling, outside plant, and network upgrades campus‑wide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience/training.
• Basic knowledge of project management principles and practices.
• Working knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure including inside/outside plant engineering and cabling technologies.
• Knowledge of telecommunications industry cabling standards and certification requirements.
• Demonstrated project management and organizational skills, including managing multiple projects, schedules, priorities, and deadlines.
• Experience developing and managing project scopes, budgets, schedules, and telecom infrastructure requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage telecom and IT infrastructure projects from planning through completion.
• Plan, design, estimate, and coordinate telecom infrastructure for new construction, renovations, and upgrades.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, telecom designs, and bid packages, ensuring campus standards.
• Coordinate and oversee contractors, vendors, campus clients, engineers, and internal teams through all project phases.
• Design and support telecom infrastructure including copper/fiber cabling, outside plant, and related networks.
