Job summary

UC San Diego is seeking a Technical Project Manager 3 to lead telecommunications infrastructure projects across campus. The role involves planning, design, construction, installation, migration, and closeout, coordinating with campus clients, engineers, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.

You will review drawings, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure installations meet UC San Diego telecommunications standards while supporting network upgrades and new facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related area or experience.
• Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
• Understanding of cabling standards and telecom certifications.
• Experience managing scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Ability to coordinate multiple teams and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead telecommunications and IT infrastructure projects from planning to closeout.
• Design and coordinate telecom infrastructure for new facilities and upgrades.
• Develop scopes, budgets, schedules, and bid packages for projects.
• Oversee contractors, vendors, and internal teams throughout the lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with campus standards for telecom installations.
