Job summary

OnTrack Communications LLC is seeking an entry level Outside Plant Engineer – Pole Fielder to perform field surveys, collect data, and support network design. You will assess pole conditions, collect pole data, and help develop deployment plans in accordance with NESC and NEC standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, familiarity with GIS/mapping tools, and a willingness to work outdoors.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or engineering degree preferred.
Entry level position in OSP engineering, pole fielding, or related telecommunications work.
Knowledge of NESC, NEC, and telecommunications construction standards.
Familiarity with GIS/mapping tools and field data collection techniques.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Conduct detailed field surveys to assess pole conditions, pole attachments, and cable routes.
Measure, photograph, and document pole data including heights, clearances, and attachments.
Collaborate with design teams to develop efficient and cost-effective deployment plans.
Ensure compliance with industry standards (NESC, NEC) and local regulations for pole attachments and construction.
Use GPS, GIS systems, and mapping software to capture and report field data.
Communicate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to meet timelines and objectives.
