Job summary

OnTrack Communications LLC is seeking an entry-level Outside Plant Engineer – Pole Fielder to perform field surveys and data collection for telecommunications networks. The role involves assessing pole conditions, documenting data, and collaborating with design teams to support network deployment.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and familiarity with GIS/mapping tools, with a focus on accurate data capture, safety, and adherence to industry standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Entry level position into OSP engineering, pole fielding, or related telecommunications work.
• Knowledge of NESC, NEC, and telecommunications construction standards.
• Familiarity with GIS/mapping tools and field data collection techniques.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and environments.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed field surveys to assess pole conditions, attachments, and cable routes.
• Measure and document pole data, including heights, clearances, and attachments.
• Collaborate with design teams to develop cost-effective deployment plans.
• Ensure compliance with NESC, NEC, and local regulations for pole attachments and construction.
• Use GPS, GIS, and mapping software to capture and report field data.
• Communicate with internal teams and contractors to ensure timelines and objectives are met.
