Job summary

MasTec Communications Group seeks a Skilled Laborer/Groundman to support aerial and underground outside plant telecommunications construction. Responsibilities include trenching, fiber and conduit work, pole operations, and service drops in a dynamic field environment.

You will collaborate with foremen, assist with material handling, and ensure safety practices. Valid DL and ability to obtain a DOT med card are required; CDL is preferred. Benefits include comprehensive coverage and time off.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn telecom construction trades and advance career.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a DOT medical card (CDL preferred).
• Reading maps, drawings, and schematics required.

Responsibilities

• Follow directions from Foreman or Supervisor to complete field labor tasks safely.
• Assist with shoveling, site cleanup, and material handling.
• Monitor excavation work to prevent utility strikes.
• Operate or assist with trucks, trailers, and equipment as trained.
• Adhere to safety procedures and wear protective gear.
