Job summary

MasTec Communications Group seeks a Laborer/Groundman to support aerial and underground OSP telecom construction. You’ll assist with fiber installations, trenching, HDD, cable pulling, pole work, and more in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

You will follow foreman directions, perform site cleanup and material handling, and learn jobsite procedures while staying safety-minded and dependable in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience in field labor and construction preferred.
• Able to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a DOT medical card.
• Reading maps, drawings, and diagrams as part of job tasks.
• Climbing certification or related experience preferred for pole work.

Responsibilities

• Follow Foreman or Supervisor directions to complete field tasks safely.
• Assist with shoveling, site cleanup, and material handling.
• Monitor excavation work to prevent utility strikes.
• Follow safety procedures and use protective equipment.
• Operate or assist with trucks, trailers, and equipment as trained.
• Learn inventory, tools, equipment, and jobsite procedures.
• Climb poles safely when trained and certified.
