Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Skilled Laborer/Groundman to support all phases of utility construction for telecom projects. You will perform manual tasks, trench and prepare job sites, and help build aerial and underground cable systems.

The position emphasizes safety, quality, and hands-on problem solving. A valid CDL and DOT Medical card, along with trenching experience, are required. This is a long-term, on-site role with opportunities to grow in telecom trades.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for various manual tasks such as digging trenches, unloading building materials, and preparing job sites with the use of hand tools like shovels, rakes, and picks
• Work in outdoor utility construction sites
• Transport heavy equipment to and from the job site each day
• Build and maintain aerial and underground cable systems
• Troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field
• Learn and train to use various kinds of tools and equipment
