Job summary

Unity Communications seeks a TEM/Project Manager to plan and deliver Telecom Expense Management projects from kickoff through savings realization. You will coordinate inventories, audits, disputes, contract optimization, and carrier migrations as the main client contact, accountable for timelines, budgets, and measurable savings.

You will lead end-to-end TEM projects, validate inventories against invoices, and drive cost reductions while collaborating with IT, finance, procurement, and carrier

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of TEM, telecom procurement, IT project management, or similar experience.
• Working knowledge of carrier billing across voice, data, wireless, and circuits.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end TEM projects from scoping to closeout.
• Build and validate inventories of circuits, lines, devices, and contracts.
• Audit invoices for rate errors, duplicates, taxes, and surcharges.
• Manage billing disputes and credit recovery with carriers.
• Identify cost reductions: disconnects, right-sizing, consolidation.
• Support contract negotiations, RFPs, and renewals.
• Coordinate carrier transitions and new service installs.
• Configure TEM platforms, workflows, and cost allocations.
• Track savings and report status, risks, and savings to leadership.
• Collaborate with IT, finance, procurement, and carrier teams.
• Document processes and create repeatable playbooks.
• Take on additional tasks as business needs arise.

Location: Remote (US BASED)

Role Summary

You will plan and deliver Telecom Expense Management (TEM) projects from kickoff through savings realization. This includes inventory cleanup, invoice audits, carrier disputes, contract optimization, and carrier migrations. You will be the main point of contact between clients, carriers, and our internal teams, and you will be accountable for timelines, budgets, and measurable savings.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end to end TEM projects, including scoping, planning, execution, and closeout

• Build and validate telecom inventories of circuits, lines, devices, and contracts against carrier invoices

• Audit invoices for rate errors, duplicate charges, unused services, and incorrect taxes or surcharges

• Manage billing disputes with carriers and track credit recovery to resolution

• Identify and execute cost reduction opportunities such as service disconnects, plan right sizing, and carrier consolidation

• Support contract negotiations, RFPs, and renewals to secure better pricing and terms

• Coordinate carrier transitions, site cutovers, and new service installs

• Implement and configure TEM platforms, approval workflows, and cost allocation structures

• Track savings against targets and deliver regular status, risk, and savings reports to clients and leadership

• Work with IT, finance, procurement, and carrier account teams to keep projects on schedule

• Document processes and build repeatable playbooks for future engagements

• Take on additional tasks and projects outside the listed duties as business needs arise

Qualifications

Required

• 3 to 5 years of experience in telecom expense management, telecom procurement, IT project management, or a similar role

• Working knowledge of carrier billing, including voice, data, wireless, and circuit services

• Proven record of managing multiple projects with competing deadlines

• Ability to multitask and manage several projects and priorities at once

• Willingness to explore new areas and work outside your comfort zone, with a flexible, can do approach to tasks beyond your core responsibilities

• Strong Excel and data analysis skills

• Clear written and verbal communication with client executives and carrier representatives

• Legal authorization to work in the United States

Preferred

• PMP, PMI ACP, or equivalent certification

• Hands on experience with a TEM platform such as Tangoe, Calero, or similar

• Experience with carriers such as AT&T, Verizon, Lumen, and T-Mobile

• Background in a BPO, MSP, or telecom services environment

• Experience with contract review and vendor negotiation
