Job summary

PacifiCorp seeks a technically skilled Telecom Engineer to lead engineering design, provisioning, and support of its enterprise private telecommunications infrastructure. You will handle FCC licensing tasks, frequency coordination, and MAS radio management while coordinating with field teams to ensure project milestones are met.

The role covers design work, documentation, and bid package preparation, with opportunities to advance to higher levels based on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college/university.
• Knowledge of FCC licensing, frequency coordination, and radio systems.
• Ability to document design of systems using CAD or equivalent software.
• Strong oral and written communication; able to work across teams.
• Experience in telecommunications or networking.

Responsibilities

• Independently conduct engineering research studies and technical analyses in specialized areas.
• Develop engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, and design documents.
• Coordinate with engineering disciplines, project engineers/managers, and customer representatives.
• Design major network and communications systems; create and update diagrams; provisioning.
• Deliver on commitments with site visits and field coordination.
• Maintain project timelines and budgets.
• Develop design specifications and bid packages for external engineering services.
• Review and evaluate system performance and analyses by staff.
• Participate in industry associations or work groups influencing policy.
