Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Atlanta is seeking a Staff Pipeline Engineer to design pipeline projects from conceptual through construction, adapting plans to meet budget and client needs. You will work with project teams, update CAD drawings across platforms, and perform field inspections.

Qualifications include ABET-accredited degree and 3 years of pipeline experience; FE exam or EIT preferred; proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and ATF; strong communication and analytical skills; 10% travel

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree and 3 years of pipeline engineering experience.
• FE exam completion with 3 years of pipeline engineering experience.
• Master's degree with 2 years pipeline experience.
• Strong knowledge of standard pipeline engineering techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work methodically and analytically with problem-solving.
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Strong computer skills (AutoCAD, MicroStation, ATF).
• EIT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design pipeline projects from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Modify and review production drawings for transmission and distribution pipelines.
• Design pipeline components per project manager requirements.
• Apply pipeline engineering concepts, codes and procedures.
• Research and compile project data; write specifications and assess feasibility.
• Update CAD drawings to verify corrections across CAD software.
• Prepare client presentations, shop drawing reviews and contract administration.
• Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations for clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with policies.
