Job summary

HUNT-EAS is seeking an Engineering Designer to plan, design, and specify telecommunications networks for K-12, municipal, healthcare, multi-family housing, and higher ed projects. You will work on project planning, design, scheduling, and construction as part of a collaborative technology design team.

Proficiency with AutoCAD and knowledge of BICSI, TIA/EIA, and NEC codes are important, as are strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to support field reviews, on-site

Qualifications

• Degree or technical training in a related field such as telecommunications, electrical engineering, or systems design
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with multi-discipline engineering environments and construction documentation

Responsibilities

• Gain familiarity with client expectations, scope, budget, and schedule for assigned tasks
• Collaborate design criteria with engineering team members to gather information required to design telecom systems
• Plan and design backbone distribution, cable pathways, and telecommunications space drawings using CAD software
• Conduct field reviews and surveys to verify accuracy of completed design
• Provide on-site assistance during start-ups and construction
• Lead and guide a draftsperson or team member
• Coordinate work activities with other staff members
• Create installation documents from vendor drawings and submittals
