The Kingsley Association seeks a part-time Teen LEAD Curriculum & Program Assistant to design age-appropriate lesson plans and support middle to high school participants. You will deliver in-person program support three days per week during summer and school-year sessions, while also handling administrative tasks.

Ideal candidates have a background in education, knowledge of SEL frameworks, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years educational experience preferred.
  • Experience developing lesson plans or curriculum for middle or high school-age youth preferred.
  • Current Act 33/34 and FBI clearances.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and prepare lesson plans and curriculum for middle and high school participants.
  • Provide 3 days each week of in-person classroom and program support.
  • D edicate time each week to lesson planning and administrative support.
  • Prepare classrooms, materials, and supplies for daily programming; assist with setup and cleanup.
  • Promote a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment that supports positive youth development.
  • Build positive relationships with participants and families; support recruitment and enrollment.
  • Assist with attendance recordkeeping, data entry, and documentation for grant reporting.
  • Coordinate transportation, meals, field trips, and other program logistics as needed.

Job description

The Teen & Tween LEAD Curriculum & Program Assistant supports program leadership across Kingsley's Teen LEAD and Tween LEAD programs by developing lesson plans and curriculum for middle and high school participants, providing classroom and program support, and assisting with day-to-day administrative and logistical tasks. The candidate will provide weekly support when needed for programming and administrative/logistical support, in both summer and school-year sessions. The exact schedule may be adjusted weekly, monthly, and seasonally to support recruitment and programming activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and prepare lesson plans and curriculum for middle and high school participants, aligned with Kingsley's SEL goals and Developmental Assets framework.
  • Provide 3 days each week of in-person classroom and program support, in both summer and school-year sessions.
  • Dedicate time each week to lesson planning and administrative/logistical support, in coordination with program leadership.
  • Prepare classrooms, materials, and supplies for daily programming; assist with setup and cleanup.
  • Promote a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment that supports positive youth development.
  • Participant & Family Support
  • Build positive, professional relationships with participants and families; support recruitment, enrollment, orientation, and retention.
  • Support in-school recruitment visits during designated time frames.
  • Communicate schedules, expectations, attendance, and program updates to participants and families as needed.
  • Program Coordination & Administration
  • Support the administration and ongoing improvement of the program's behavioral management system.
  • Assist with attendance recordkeeping, data entry, and documentation to support grant reporting and program evaluation.
  • Assist with the coordination of transportation, meals, supplies, field trips, and other program logistics as needed.
Community Engagement
  • Support outreach and recruitment activities in schools and the community, including in-school visits during designated time frames.
  • Represent The Kingsley Association professionally at community and outreach events.
Professional Responsibilities
  • Maintain confidentiality of participant, family, and organizational information; comply with organizational policies and grant requirements.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and commitment to Kingsley's mission and values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Ability to develop age-appropriate lesson plans and curriculum for middle and high school participants.
  • Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, SEL frameworks and youth developmental assets models.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; detail-oriented; able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office products.
Education/Experience and Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2-3 years educational experience preferred

  • Current Act 33/34 and FBI clearances
Organizational Relationships:
  • Reports to: Teen LEAD Program Coordinator
  • Works Closely with: Director of Operations and Program Performance
  • Direct reports: Not Applicable
  • Indoor and outdoor; frequently required to work at a fast pace
  • Evening and weekend work required. Program is Monday - Friday, after school - 6:00 PM.
  • Position requires 15-20 hours per week of in-person and independent work depending on specific programmatic needs.
