About the Club

For nearly 70 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue has provided safe spaces for Bellevue's youth outside of school hours. We focus on serving neighborhoods with the greatest need, ensuring equitable access to life-enhancing programs centered on academics, health, and leadership. Our mission is to empower all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.

BGCB is a dynamic organization that continuously adapts to meet the evolving needs of youth and the community. We seek flexible individuals to run an innovative program called The Teen Tech Center. The Tech Center, established with the support of The Clubhouse Network, offers young people (ages 10 to 18) the opportunity to work on projects that are meaningful to their lives, using computers and technology. The program provides support and resources to help young people pursue their interests and build on their talents. In the Teen Tech Center, youth can design their own music, art, newsletters, robots, science simulations, computer games, and animation, and we are looking for someone who can teach the teens and help bring these programs and projects to life.

The Teen Tech Center Coordinator supports the Center's day-to-day activities, helping engage youth, providing technical assistance, and facilitating programs. This role requires a passion for technology, creativity, and youth development, helping young participants explore projects in music, digital media, robotics, and more.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help Teen Tech Center members develop projects (e.g., help them come up with ideas, gather materials, get started, locate mentors to work with them, and support their ongoing work).
  • Support volunteer mentors, ensuring they work effectively with youth.
  • Support youth in planning for the future, including pursuing academic and job opportunities that leverage their Teen Tech Center skills and experience.
  • Provide basic computer maintenance, including file management, trouble-shooting, and technical support to Teen Tech Center youth and mentors.
  • Participate in The Clubhouse Network, attending Network meetings, sharing ideas and issues, and supporting collaborative projects across sites.
  • Support other programs and activities throughout the Club Teen Center with support from our Work Force Development team, drop in staff and Teen Services Director.
  • Further learning through trainings offered by the BGCB and attend the annual conference in April.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with youth — especially those from underserved communities — and help foster a welcoming, inclusive, youth-driven environment where teens feel safe, supported, and inspired.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, participation, and program data.
  • Help maintain the Teen Tech Center as a clean, organized, and engaging space, including managing supplies, equipment, and project materials.
  • Drive the Club Van on a regular basis to transport youth and support program activities.

These responsibilities do not fully encapsulate the scope of the role. You may be asked to perform tasks not listed here and to provide coverage at other sites occasionally to maintain staff-to-youth ratios.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven track record working with youth, in particular young people from under-served neighborhoods with a passion for learning and helping others to learn.
  • Work experience in an informal learning environment.
  • Experience with computers and interest in technology as a creative and empowering tool, including familiarity with digital arts, music production, or similar creative/tech applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to reach out to and communicate effectively — verbally and in writing — with youth, parents, educators, and community leaders.
  • Interpersonal skills, including an ability to get along with people of diverse backgrounds and abilities and a talent for making people feel welcome and included.
  • Excellent organizational skills and experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to drive a passenger van, with a valid WA driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years old. High school diploma required; some college experience preferred.
  • Must pass a National Background Check.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Six months to a year of previous experience working in a Boys & Girls Club or similar youth development setting.

BENEFITS:

  • Tuition reimbursement after one year of continued employment
  • Paid professional development and training opportunities
  • Paid holidays
  • Paid time off
  • $50/ month reimbursement for those who take public transportation
