Job summary

Elizabeth Taber Library in Elizabeth, NJ is seeking a Part Time Young Adult Librarian to serve tweens and teens, with programming, collection development and readers advisory as core duties.

This role requires planning a comprehensive schedule, including evening and weekend activities, and may involve supervision of teen volunteers. MLS/Masters degree preferred; position offers part-time hours at $20.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• MLIS or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience planning and implementing youth programming preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engages with makerspace and provides makerspace training to all interested patrons
• Lends support to our children’s department when needed for programming and department planning
• Maintains an engaging and safe environment for children and teens
• Develops Young Adult Summer Reading Program, including reading programs and active programming elements
• Provides general circulation desk duties
• Manages teen volunteer program including recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers
