Job summary

YMCA of Greater New York's Staten Island Broadway Center is seeking a Teen Director to lead all teen programs, mentor staff, and manage program delivery.

You will supervise staff, oversee budgeting and data tracking, build partnerships with schools and community providers, and ensure safety and inclusion across programs.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree, 3+ years working with teens, and 1–2 years supervising youth programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required; Education or Social Work degree desired.
• 3+ years of experience working with teens/youth and planning activities.
• 1–2 years supervising community-based youth programs and developing programs.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• CPR, First Aid, or AED trainer preferred.
• AS400, budgeting, and public policy knowledge preferred.
• MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint knowledge.
• Strong interpersonal skills, leadership, and comfort with multicultural youth and adults.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select, develop, train, and supervise staff.
• Supervise staff implementing diverse teen programming with robust data tracking and funded contracts.
• Manage administrative data entry in Youth Service.NET, AS400; coordinate paperwork and surveys.
• Ensure health, safety, and well-being of participants with close supervision.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement program registration, workshops, and events with Teen Advisors.
• Directly facilitate teen programming when a Teen Advisor position is vacant.
• Lead with Social Emotional Learning and skill development.
• Lead marketing and distribution of program information and compile statistics.
• Develop, implement, and monitor the program budget to meet fiscal objectives.
• Establish and maintain links with service providers, schools, and other partners.
• Attend meetings, trainings, and events related to teen programming.
• Act as liaison to YMCA of Greater New York regarding teen issues.
• Support Youth & Family Director with staff management and scheduling.
• Manage adolescent behavior with respect, maturity, and encouragement.
• Create and support a diverse, culturally sensitive environment for teens.
