Job summary

YMCA of Silicon Valley in Palo Alto is seeking a Teen Coordinator to assist in implementing teen programs and initiatives. You will build relationships with youth and teens and collaborate with community partners to promote teen development initiatives.

This role supports leadership cohorts, helps increase participation, and provides engaging experiences. Evening/weekend availability and strong communication are essential; bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of experience working with teens.
Strong customer service skills and the ability to work with individuals at all employee levels is required.
Strong written and oral communication skills will be required.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task is required.
Must be able to work a varied schedule, with frequent evening and weekend work.
Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.

Responsibilities

With the assistance of the Director, this position will direct and oversee, Model United Nations, Model Legislature and Court, and other teen leadership cohorts
Develop and implement innovative approaches to promote and increase teen program participation and retention.
Lead and administer teen programs.
Attend all conferences and meetings
Create positive, lasting memories for all teen program participants, staff and volunteers.
Participates in staff meetings and/or related meetings.
Attend meetings, online webinars, and trainings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
