Job summary

YMCA of South Hampton Roads is seeking a Teen Coordinator to design, plan, and deliver high-quality enrichment programs for teens aged 13–17. Under the Program Director, you will foster leadership, service learning, social activities, and personal growth while partnering with families, schools, and community groups to ensure positive outcomes.

You will mentor teens, supervise attendants and volunteers, and ensure safety and compliance with YMCA standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Good character and reputation
• CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire
• Background checks required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Punctual and reliable for scheduled shifts
• Ability to engage with diverse backgrounds

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and supervise teen programs (Leaders Club, Y Achievers, Teen Entrepreneurship, Youth & Government)
• Foster inclusive, welcoming spaces for teens to participate
• Collaborate with schools and families to support teen engagement
• Provide leadership development, teamwork and communication skill-building for teens
• Supervise teen attendants and program volunteers
• Track attendance, outcomes and storytelling for stakeholders
