Job summary

The YMCA of South Hampton Roads is seeking a Teen Coordinator to design and implement high-quality enrichment and engagement programs for teens aged 13–17. You will collaborate with families, schools, and community partners to foster leadership development, service learning, and personal growth.

Under the direction of the Program Director, you will mentor teens, supervise attendants and volunteers, ensure safety and compliance, and track participation and outcomes to support program quality and

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good character and reputation.
• CPR/First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire.
• Completes all pre-employment requirements including background checks.
• Adequate speaking, hearing and writing skills appropriate for interacting with children required.
• Ability to be on time, every time for scheduled shifts required.
• Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging teen programs like Leaders Club and Teen Entrepreneurship.
• Build positive relationships and mentor teens in a welcoming space.
• Partner with schools, community groups, and families to boost teen engagement.
• Provide teens with leadership, teamwork, and communication opportunities.
• Ensure programs comply with YMCA policies and safety standards.
• Track attendance and prepare reports and success stories.
